斜里町ウトロと羅臼町を結ぶ知床横断道路の頂上、知床連山の尾根筋にあたる標高７３８ｍの峠です。
ドライブコースとしても人気が高く、７月下旬でも見ることができる残雪の白が印象的。さらにここから見る羅臼岳の紅葉がまた見事で、天候が良ければ遠く北方領土国後島も望むことができます。
開通期間は4月下旬から11月上旬までですが、その年の気象状況によって変わることがあります。
The pass is located on route 334 from UTORO to
RAUSU.
Route 334 from UTORO to RAUSU is called "SHIRETOKO-OUDAN-DORO". The word
means the road crosses "SHIRETOKO Peninsula".
By the way, pass is 738meters above sea level. And telling about
the view from that place, you are able to see the top of Mt.RAUSU covered with snow even
toward the end of July. In autumn, you are able to see wonderful "Autumn colors”,
red, yellow and so on. Especially, Mt.RAUSU is beautiful.In fine days, over the
Nemuro channel, you can see “KUNASIRI ISLAND".
Attention; The road is closed from the last ten days last ten days of
October to the last ten days of April, because of snow. |
