途中から流れが２つに分かれていることから「双美の滝」とも呼ばれています。
滝の中ほどの高さまで階段で上がることができ、なかなか迫力があります。
また、滝の上にある展望台からはオホーツク海や知床連山を遠望することができ、特に流氷の季節は絶好、見渡す限りの白い海原が感動的です。
「日本の滝100選」にも選ばれています。
The Oshinkoshin
falls fork
into two on the way toward the basin, and streams into the sea with curving elegantly.
So, it is nicknamed “Forked beautiful waterfall". When we put the
nickname into Japanese, it is expressed "SOUBI-NO-TAKl”.
The falls are rich in the water and dynamic, you can see it from
route 334 along the shore. From the observation platform on the top, you can
overlook the Okhotuku Sea and the mountain range in Shiretoko peninsula, far away.
The observation platform is not noticed very much, but now, if you know this
information, you had better visit this. The scenery from this is worth seeing.
Especially, in winter, it is the most suitable to overlook floating ice. When
you overlook white endless sea covered with floating ice, you must be deeply impressed. |
